The Shop Dogs
Jack and Hudson (Chinook #1), happily welcomed Mendon Cycle Smith customers for years. Friendly, laid-back and curious, they became part of the shop and its culture. Moose now rules the roost, with his happy boisterous barking, welcoming every customer in hopes of a skritch or a treat, and Chip the #2 Chinook, has now joined the team as of November 2020. His infectious, relentless positivity is a reminder to all, being a grouchy pants has serious consequences, that generally involve copious application of tongue slobber....

Rest Peacefully, Old Friend
Jack came into our lives from Lollypop Farm in early summer 2001. He quickly changed them, forever.
He helped me build the shop, as well as its customer base, since the day I signed the lease.
His kind eyes and gentle demeanor made him, quite simply, the best greeter and ambassador a bike shop has ever known.
He was known about town as part of "that guy with the dogs on the bike" as we rode, every single morning around the roads and paths of Mendon, rain, snow, sleet, or sun. Jack never missed a chance to get out and run.
He was taken from us unexpectedly Thursday, May 30, 2013 after a rapid onset of Splenic cancer. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
